WhatsApp is the world's most popular messaging app with over 2 billion users, and images are a huge part of how people communicate on it. Whether you're updating your profile picture, posting a status, or sharing photos in a chat, getting the right image size means your pictures look sharp instead of blurry and cropped. Here's every WhatsApp image dimension you need to know.

WhatsApp Profile Picture Size

The recommended size for a WhatsApp profile picture is 1080 x 1080 pixels with a 1:1 aspect ratio. The absolute minimum accepted size is 192 x 192 pixels, though images that small look pixelated on modern phones. Aim for at least 500 x 500 pixels for acceptable quality, and upload at the full 1080x1080 for the best results on high-resolution screens.

WhatsApp displays your profile picture as a circle everywhere — in chats, contact lists, and group info screens. That means the four corners of your square image get cropped off.
